Called to the Bar in 1981, Clare has been providing quality legal services to clients across Northwestern Ontario for over 35 years. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Lawyers Professional Indemnity Company (LawPRO) and is currently the Chair of the Governance Committee. He is former President of the Rainy River Law Library Association and the original Founding Chair of Riverside Foundation for Health Care. Clare is a past member of the Law Society of Upper Canada Joint Working Group on Real Estate, past Chair of the Real Estate Committee of the Federation of Ontario Law Associations (FOLA), and past Co-Chair of the Working Group on Lawyers and Real Estate. He has been a Deputy Judge of the Ontario Small Claims Court since 1991.
Clare has written papers and presented legal continuing education programs for both the Ontario Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada. These topics specialize primarily in real estate including cottage conveyancing and the tax implications and cross border reporting requirements under the Canada – United States Tax Convention (1980), for U.S. non-residents who own property in Canada.
